Fast Acting Diets – Heard Them Before! I am sure you have. You might even have tried one or two, or even more. I know I have, and none of them worked. We all dreamed of getting back our high school physique but alas, all those promises came to naught!!!
They are just like the Nutrition and Wellness Articles that fill the pages making promises of huge weight loss overnight, and you don’t even have to do anything! It is like those “fast acting diet pills for women” and the “fast easy diets that work”. What a lot of Horse Doodoo!
IF YOU WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT PERMANENTLY- DON’T DIET!
And that is the absolute truth!
Diet: “Middle English”: from Old French diete (noun), dieter (verb), via Latin from Greek diaita ‘a way of life’.
Permanent weight loss is a permanent way of life….not a temporary hernia in your old eating habits. “Diets” tend to require that you stop eating certain foods. This often leads to a deficiency so your body stores what it does not need and then prods you, with cravings, to try and get you to eat what it needs.
Often diets are protein starved diets. What happens then is that your body breaks down muscle to get the protein it needs. Muscle burns the food that you eat. The less muscle you have means less food burned which leaves excess food. Your body then stores it as fat for the next “lean” period. When you stop the “diet”, you then have less muscle to burn the food you eat. What happens then…..you burn less of what you eat so you pick up weight as you body stores the excess food.
But I Lost Weight
Yes, you might have lost weight, but remember, the muscle you lost? it weighs more than the same volume of fat. So while you lost weight, it was the good, healthy weight that you lost. The food burning machine of your body. The result….faster fat build up later!!! So what is next, another type of diet? You know what that makes you? A Yo-yo Dieter!

Scaring you is not the purpose of this article. The purpose is to make you aware of the dangers of Dieting, especially when it is an annual or bi-annual event. This lifestyle does your health no long term good and you could pay the price later. There is only one way to change your shape permanently.

Yep, that’s it. You have to do it if you want a permanent change in your weight, in your health and in your happiness. Change your lifestyle. It takes 21 days to break old habits and then the worst is over. It is something that you really need to do, for yourself, your children, your spouse. Do you really want to stay fat, un healthy and with the prospect of heart disease, blood pressure problems, sugar diabetes etc.
